Peggy Payton's Obituary
Mrs. Peggy Hamilton Payton, age 74, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at the McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe.
Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Phil McLean and Reverend Eddie Williams. Entombment will be held at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lexington, Kentucky.
Mrs. Payton was born on December 15, 1939, in Lexington, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Kenneth Hamilton and Clay Foley Hamilton. She was the retired owner and operator of Payton Place Farm and Greenhouses in Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Leon Payton, Sr.
Survivors include a son, Forest Leon (Boy) Payton, Jr. of Monroe; one granddaughter, Kirsten Elizabeth Starnes of Monroe; two great-granddaughters, Victoria Shianne Starnes and Aviana Julianne Covington, both of Monroe; and a sister, Carol Russell of Nicholasville, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 1, 2014, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home at 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
