Peggy Jean Yow Fisher's Obituary
We are sad to announce the passing of Peggy Jean Yow Fisher from Stanfield, NC. Peggy was 84 years young when she passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Atrium Health Stanly. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Stanly Funeral Home in Locust, NC from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The graveside rites will be officiated by Chad Austin at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery in Stanfield, NC. Peggy was a lifelong member of Kinza Memorial Baptist Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart and lived a life full of faith.
Born on April 15, 1939 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late John Hampton Yow and the late Dora Estell Furr Yow. Peggy graduated from Stanfield High school and entered a career in the textile industry. Later on, she became a CNA and ended her career at Spring Arbor of Albemarle. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Peggy. She loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family, including homemade chicken and dumplings, chicken salad and pecan pie. Other hobbies and interests included family, church, teaching Sunday school, sewing, canning, and reading her Bible.
Peggy married Darryl Fisher in 1965. The couple resided in Stanfield and were married for 30 years. Darryl and Peggy loved their two generations of nieces and nephews as if they were their own children and grandchildren.
Peggy was preceded in death by late husband Darryl Fisher, Hoyle Yow (brother), Barbara Yow Drye, Faye Yow Little Morton (sisters), and Patricia Yow (sister-in-law). Survivors include brothers John David Yow and Charlie Yow (Cora), and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank Trinity Place for always treating Peggy like family and for caring for her with great kindness. We are so grateful for the time we spent with Peggy. Her presence will always be felt in our hearts. Peggy will be missed dearly by all those who were blessed to know her.
