Paul Randolph's Obituary
Paul Randolph passed away at his home in Stanfield, NC on Sunday, March 24, 2024. Paul was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to William “Si” Randolph and Doris Randolph (nee Hice) June 22, 1937. Paul had been fighting metastatic cancer prior to his death.
Paul is survived by his wife, Bonnie Randolph (nee Shultz), brother John Randolph (Sallie), daughter Amy Leonard (Les), and son Patrick Randolph (Wanda). Paul had three grandchildren Jacob Randolph (Kanza), Sophia Geil and Jack Geil and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Paul served for three years in the US Army. He was trained to speak Russian at the Army language school and was honorably discharged in 1960. He then attended Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture. Paul had a long career that centered around horticulture, with many jobs in the floral industry, and working with violent teens and chronically mentally ill prisoners teaching horticultural skills.
Paul and Bonnie moved to NC in 1982 after living in Michigan for many years. They moved to Stanfield in 1997 after building their dream home. Paul tried hard to become a Southern gentleman, but he could not master the accent.
Paul was a friend of Bill W. for 45 years, who devoted himself to helping others in recovery.
Memorial Service to be held at Love’s Grove Methodist Church in Stanfield at 11 AM on Saturday, March 30, 2024. All are invited to stay for refreshments in the Family Life Center at the church, and to visit with family and friends.
