Patricia Arwelda Morton Scott, age 83 of Albemarle, N.C. passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Bethany Woods Nursing Home & Rehab, Albemarle, NC. Her service will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 8, 2017 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle, NC, with the Rev. Joe Smith officiating.? Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care.
Mrs. Scott was born July 1, 1934 in Stanly County, NC. to the late Walter Haywood Morton and Mary Lucy Huneycutt Morton and was a retired associate with Wal Mart. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she played the piano and sang in her church.? She was also an original member of the Morton Sisters and traveled and sang for many years.
She was married to the late Zeb Scott, Jr. who preceded her in death June 1, 1999. Survivors include three daughters; Elaine Scott Morton and husband Bobby of Norwood, NC, Lanita Scott Coley and husband Gary of Albemarle, NC and Vanessa Scott Lambert and husband Marvin of Albemarle, NC, one brother; Dale Morton of Albemarle; two sisters, Lucy Eudy of Norwood, NC and Shirley Bowers of Albemarle, NC. Grandchildren include Stephanie Morton Biby (Mike) of Norwood, NC, Kimberly Dawn Morton of Albemarle, NC, Leslie Coley Shaver (Jeremy) of New London, NC, Jonathan Gary Coley (Misty) of Albemarle, NC, Bradley Aaron Coley (Casey) of Norwood, NC and Austin Cole Lambert of Albemarle, NC., seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
