Nicholas
Anthony Smith, 68, of Concord passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Atrium
Health- NorthEast in Concord. His funeral service will be Friday, August 30 at
2 PM at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care at 501 N. Central Ave. Locust, NC
28097 with Rev. Keith Walters officiating. The family will receive friends from
12:30 to 1:30 prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born
September 23, 1950 in Winsted, CT, he was the son of Albert Smith and Vivian
Wolfe Smith. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and served in
Vietnam. Nick cherished every moment spent with his family, especially his
grandchildren, and had a great passion for racing. During his racing career he
worked with Ultra Motorsports, JTG Racing, Phil Parsons Racing, and retired
from Go Fast Racing.
Nick is
survived by his loving wife, Pamela, of the home, one daughter, Amanda Simpson
of Concord, and three grandchildren, Tyler Simpson, Kaylee Simpson, and Chloe
English.
