Nellie Cropsey Bost's Obituary
Nellie Cropsey Bost, 94, of Oakboro, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehab in Albemarle. A graveside service to honor her life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Oakboro Cemetery.
Born on March 10, 1931, in Stanly County, NC, Cropsey was the beloved daughter of the late George Walter Bost and Vinnie Phillips Bost. She dedicated many years of her life as an employee of Stanly Knitting Mill and was a proud and faithful member of West Oakboro Baptist Church.
Cropsey will be remembered as strong-willed and determined, a woman who stood firmly by her values and beliefs. She had a gift for storytelling and loved sharing memories of days gone by, often reflecting on family, friends, and the simple joys of life.
She leaves behind a loving extended family, including numerous cousins, who will cherish her memory and the legacy of strength and faith she leaves behind. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Virginia Bost and a brother George Junior Bost.
The family requests that memorials be made to West Oakboro Baptist Church, 16803 Silver Rd, Oakboro, NC 28129.
