Neasie Burris Richardson, 85, of Mt. Gilead, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 in her home.? Her funeral will be 2 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Smith and Rev. Garry Baker officiating.? Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Church cemetery in Mt. Gilead.? The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 1:30 PM prior to the service.
Born November 18, 1930 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ralphard Jerome Burris and Ella Ussery Burris.? She was a former worker with DSM Hosiery in Mt. Gilead.? Mrs. Richardson was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church and also a current charter member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Albemarle.
Mrs. Richardson was married to the late Royie C. Richardson who preceded her in death in 1990.? A daughter Dona Pressley also preceded her in death in 2011.? Survivors include: two daughters, Wanda Coley of Valdese, NC and Brenda Lowery and husband Donald of Mt. Gilead; one brother, Ned M. Burris and wife Alice of Moselle, MS; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Burris and wife Rebecca, Randy Eugene Burris and wife Linda, Rodney Dean Burris and wife Beverly (deceased), Ken Pressley and wife Rebecca, Tera Bivens and husband Joe, Lee Nordan and wife Misty, and Dwayne Lowery and wife Cymone; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
