Nancy Presson's Obituary
Nancy Rushing Presson (WAXHAW) - Mrs. Nancy Rushing Presson, age 82, of Waxhaw, NC, formerly of Marshville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Nancy Presson will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., February 10, 2024, at Davis Funeral Service, 1003 E. Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112, with a visitation immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Presson was born July 16, 1941, in Union County, NC, a daughter of the late Kermit A. and Ruth F. Rushing. She was also predeceased by her husband, James H. Presson, and brothers Charles Rushing and Alan Rushing. Mrs. Presson is survived by three sons, Bryan Presson and wife Paula of Greensboro, NC, Harold Presson and wife Karla of Mooresville, NC, and Stuart Presson of Waxhaw, NC; daughter Sara Presson Grant and husband Richard of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Virginia Windsor of Marshville, NC, and Lillian Giles of Monroe, NC.
After an early career in childhood education, Mrs. Presson retired from decades of service as a US Postal Service worker in Marshville, NC. Her passions included her large family, camping and exploring nature throughout most of the United States with her lifelong travel partner, Jim, as well as her four children, and traveling to many places in the wider world. In her later years she especially enjoyed quilting with her good friends.
