Born May 20, 1940 in McDowell County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Trigg Rose and Hazel Pauline McKinzie. Nancy Rose graduated from Montgomery High School in Montgomery, WV before working as a secretary at the Pentagon in Washington DC. She also worked at a mink store, and as a switchboard operator before marrying her high school sweetheart, Jerry Patrick Mulligan, and starting their family. She was a devoted wife as well as mother to their three children and a dedicated member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fayetteville, WV. The Mulligan family moved to the Charlotte area in 1987 and then became involved in the Locust community and members of the First Baptist Church of Locust. She later retired as a Human Resource Specialist with Herff Jones. Nancy was a great painter and cook. She loved to bake, do crafts, decorate, and spend time with her family. She was very active in her church and, among other roles, served as a Sunday School teacher and Pre-school teacher. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be terribly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jerry Patrick Mulligan. Other survivors include two children, Mark Edward Mulligan (Leigh Anne) of Oakboro and Laura Kay Mulligan Treadway (Kenneth) of Oakboro, eight grandchildren - Julie Reinert (Darin), Andrea Sierra (Jason), Patrick Mulligan (Jennifer), Katie Mulligan, Lindsey (Mike), Cody Errington, Conner Mulligan, and Cameron Treadway and seven great-grandchildren - Caitlin, Bella, Jacob, Emma, Aubree, Henry, and Aleighna.
