Mrs. Brown Walden's Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Denning Brown Walden, 83, will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 6th, 2019 at the Lakeview Baptist Church, Hartsville, SC. The Rev. Ken Hughes will officiate with burial in Stanly Garden of Memory, Albemarle, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 6th, 2019 at the Lakeview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Walden died peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. Born in Cumberland County, NC, she was a daughter of the late David Henry Denning and Rachel Parker Denning. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, the Joy Sunday School Class, and The Senior Adult Choir. She was a retiree of Reeves Brothers Manufacturing, Albemarle, NC, where she was Supervisor of the Sewing Department.
She loved her family and her special dog, Sassy. She enjoyed working in her yard, gospel music, and going to the Button Museum on Friday nights.
Surviving are her sons, Allen Brown (Jen) of Ridgeway, SC, David Brown of Cornelius, NC; daughters, Becky Rummage (Tony) of Hartsville, SC, Sue Barfield (Mickey) of Norwood NC; step-son, George Walden Jr. (Denise), step-daughter Judy Garrett, step-daughter-in-law, Becky Walden, all of Hartsville. SC; brothers, Neil Denning (Ruth) of Eugene, Oregon, Billy Denning (Barbara) of Linden, NC; grandchildren, Matthew Barfield, (Mary Margaret)Steven Barfield, Kimberlee Babcock (Gary), Jenny Tinsley (Edward), Jarrett Brown (Tracy), Alana Brown, Angie Tinsley, Ray Corbitt; Will Walden (Lindsey), Wendi Sutherlin (Beau), Chad Walden (Elliott), Josh Walden, Rebecca Chastain (Ben), Len Garrett (Kelly).She also had 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James C. Brown; second husband, George Walden; brother, Samuel Denning; sisters, Flotilla Temple, Louise Jackson.
