Mr. Wayne Casella's Obituary
Mr. Wayne Casella, 79, of Badin, NC and Quakertown, PA passed away on February 19, 2021 at LTAC Hospital, Greensboro, NC.
Mr. Casella was born in Cape May Courthouse, NJ, but lived much of his life in the Philadelphia area. He attended St. Thomas Moore School where he played basketball. Following his schooling, he served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Knox, KY. Mr. Casella worked as a career systemsanalyst with IBM for 30 years.
Mr. Casella was the loving father of two daughters, Suzanne Payne (Ty) and Karen Alford (Rich), and a doting grandfather of six, Cody, Robin, Jim, Nick, Matt and Lindsey. He also had one great grandson, Cade and two brothers Vaughan Feighery and Donnie Feighery. He is also survived by Polly Martin, his special friend who has resided with him in Badin, NC since 2016.
Mr. Casella was preceded in death by Helen DeTreux Casella, his wife of 49 years, and his brother, Kenny Casella.The Badin VFD and Better Badin, Inc. counted on Wayne's help during barbecues and community events. He hosted many neighborhood gatherings and was a Civil War history buff.He enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, and jigsaw puzzles.
A memorial service will take place in Quakertown at a date and location to be determined.
An outdoor gathering of family and friends in celebration of Mr. Casella's life is planned for March 27 at the Badin home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Badin Volunteer Fire Department.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care is serving the family in North Carolina.
