Mildred "Mick" Kiser Barrett's Obituary
Mildred Joan "Mick" Kiser Barrett, 89, of Midland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster in Charlotte.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel in Locust with Pastor Robert Britt officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.
Born on August 19, 1936, in Stanly County, North Carolina, Mick was the daughter of the late Lonnie L. Kiser and Emma Goodman Kiser.
A faithful member of Love's Grove Methodist Church, Mick lived a life rooted in Christian faith, compassion, and service to others. She worked alongside her husband for many years at Barrett Oil Company in Midland, helping build the family business through dedication and hard work.
Mick will be remembered as a kind, generous, and caring woman who believed deeply in helping those who could not help themselves. Her unwavering faith guided every aspect of her life, and she was known by family and friends as a good Christian woman whose gentle spirit and servant's heart touched many lives. She faithfully sang in the church choir for many years and found great joy in worship.
She also cherished the many adventures she shared with her husband as they traveled extensively together. Above all, Mick's greatest joy was her family, and her love and devotion to her husband were evident throughout their life together.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Thomas Barrett.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Barrett (Sheree) of Midland and Eric Barrett (Amy) of Pinetown; her sisters, Margaret Clontz of Brief and Betty Almond of Locust; and her four cherished grandchildren, Zachary L. Barrett, Katelyn E. Harrison, Emma Ruth Barrett, and Anna Claire Barrett.
