Michael Hal Davis' Obituary
Michael Hal Davis, 76, of Albemarle, NC passed away Sunday, February 18 at Bethany Woods Nursing Home. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:45 Monday February 26, 2024, at Stanly Funeral and Cremation care of Albemarle. A graveside service will be held at 12pm February 26, 2024, at Fairview Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Brian Wright.
Michael was born March 23, 1947, at Yadkin Hospital in Albemarle, North Carolina to the late Hal Jackson Davis and Opal Lois Davis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Smith Davis and half-brother, Gary Davis.
Survivors include his daughter, Sheri Davis Chandler (David) of Chapel Hill, NC; Son, Brandon Davis (Hailey) of Albemarle, NC, step-children, Jan Almond (Kim) of Charlotte, NC, Trent Taylor (Vicky) of Aquadale, NC, Chad Taylor (Jordan) of Richfield, NC; sister, Gwen Shaver (George) of New London, NC; brother, Tommy Davis (Jan) of Albemarle, NC, half-brother John Troublefield (Peggy) of Cary, NC and granddaughters, Shelby Chandler Martin (Trey) and Kirsten Davis; step-grandchildren; granddaughter, Emerson Almond; grandson, Spencer Almond; nieces and nephews.
He grew up in Stanly County and attended Albemarle Senior High School, graduating in 1965. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 348 in Albemarle. Michael owned Hal’s Restaurant in Albemarle, NC. It was opened in 1964 Labor Day weekend by his father, Hal Davis. It closed in 2014. He truly valued all his customers and considered them his friends. He would always try to help anyone in need. He had a humble heart and enjoyed being with his good friends. He enjoyed golf, cooking, watching old Westerns and cheering for the Tarheels!
