Melanie Dowling Edwards' Obituary
Melanie Dowling Edwards, 69, of Oakboro, NC, passed away Friday May 7, 2021 at Atrium Health Stanly. Her memorial service will be at 2 PM on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Oakboro, NC, with Pastor Kinny Wallace officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
Born September 1, 1951 in Dade City, FL, Melanie was the daughter of the late Ralph Edward Dowling and Marion Leigh DeWitt. She attended Mineral Springs Baptist Church and was a retired service coordinator with Schult Homes. She loved her church, teaching the children’s classes , and being a part of her women’s bible study group. She also never missed a game of her beloved UNC Men’s Basketball team.
She is survived by her husband Richard Edwards of Oakboro, NC; son Tim Edwards and wife Danielle of Charlotte, NC; brother Thomas Dowling and wife Leslee of Bristol, TN; sister Susan Roberts and husband Michael of Dade City, FL; grandchildren Chloe Edwards, Carter Edwards and Clara Edwards.
