Mattie Alice
Mauldin Williams, 95, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday February 10, 2019 in
Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehab. Her funeral service will be 1 Pm Wednesday February
13, 2019 in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle with
Rev. Rick Walker and Rev. Matthew Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow
in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30 Am until
12:30 Pm prior to the hour of the service.
Mattie was
born March 31, 1923 in Stanly County, NC and was the daughter of the late Eli
Marshall Mauldin and Tabithia Alice Thompson Mauldin. Mrs. Williams graduated from
Albemarle High School in 1940 and was a retired seamstress. She was a member of
Cross Community Church.
Mrs.
Williams was preceded in death by her husband Prentice Williams in 2000.
Survivors include three sons Jimmie C. Williams of Albemarle, NC, Michael ?Mike?
Williams of TX and Roger Williams of Albemarle, NC; daughter Bonita L. Johnson
of Albemarle, NC; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mattie
was also preceded in death by a grandson Derek Watson in 2011, a step-grandson
Houston Briggs in 2010 and four brothers and four sisters.
