Mary Dean Tucker's Obituary
Mrs. Mary D. Tucker, age 86, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at her residence.
A Christian burial graveside committal service was conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Emmanuel Cemetery in Indian Trail, officiated by Reverend Glenn Johnson.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Benton Heights Baptist Church, 1411 Helms Street, officiated by Reverend Dade Sherman.
The family will receive friends following the memorial ceremony.
Mrs. Tucker was born on September 11, 1927, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Vann B. Presson and Mary Cathleen Duncan Presson. She was married to the late Vann W. Tucker, who passed in 1993. She was retired from Rexham Corporation as the Human Resources Manager, after 33 years of dedicated service.
Mary Dean was very active in her church for 56 years, Benton Heights Baptist Church, as the treasurer, the property committee, visiting the sick, elderly and shut in.
Survivors include one son, Vann Wayne Tucker, Jr. and wife Laura Rayfield Tucker, of Georgetown, SC; one daughter, Vickie Tucker Stewart and husband, Robert Page Stewart, of Monroe; one grandson, Matt Seely of Georgetown; one granddaughter, Jessica Morris and husband, Kenneth Morris, of Monroe; two great-granddaughters, Emily Morris and Kendall Morris of Monroe; two brothers, Dowd Presson of Indian Trail and Ikie Presson and wife, Sandra, of Pinehurst; one sister, Patsy Joyner and husband, Larry Joyner, of Charlotte.
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Cemetery, in care of, Emmers Presson, 7512 West Duncan Road, Indian Trail, North Carolina 28079.
