Mary Louise Pennington's Obituary
Mary Louise Pennington, 91, of Sanford, formally of Albemarle, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at The Bayberry Retirement Inn in Sanford. A memorial service will be held 11 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at West Albemarle Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Adam Hatley and Pastor Brent Pope. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM at the Church prior to the service.
Louise was born November 9, 1933, in Stanly County to the late Lonnie and Minnie Smith. She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Brenda Morris and her husband Jeff of Newport, TN, and Sheila Miller and her husband Steve of Sanford, NC. Those also left to cherish her memory are, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Max Pennington in 2013, daughter, Patricia Jo DeVoss in 2014, three sisters, Annie Mae Yeatts, Evelyn Griffin, Clara Davis, and brother, Marshall Smith.
To know Louise was to love her! She was a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Louise and Max were long time members of West Albemarle Baptist Church and were very active in church activities before their health declined. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
