Mary Jane Morton's Obituary
Mary Jane Morton, 80, of Archdale, formerly of Albemarle, passed away at the Hospice Home at High Point. Her funeral service will be 2 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Loflin officiating. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle prior to the funeral service.
Born February 23, 1944 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charles I. Morton and Julia Hathcock Morton. She was a teacher and librarian in the Stanly County School System and taught at South Stanly High School. She was a lifelong member of North Albemarle Baptist Church where she was a choir member for many years. She liked to read, loved animals and loved to sing and play piano. Jane loved her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by sisters Judy Carol Morton of Archdale, Linda Lee Morton of Archdale and brother Charles I. Morton Jr. (Doryn) of Asheboro, nephews Charles "Trey" Morton III (Adrienne) of Liberty Township, OH, Joseph Morton (Abby) of Asheboro, niece Meredith Arbaiza (Alex) of Asheboro, great-nephew Chase Morton, great-nieces Caroline Morton, Madeline Arbaiza, and Dorothy Arbaiza.
