Mary Burnette Chaney's Obituary
Mary
Burnette Chaney, 80, of New Salem passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019. Her
funeral service will be Sunday, December 8 at 3 PM at Berea Baptist Church with
Pastor Jody Wetta and Pastor Warren Rice officiating. The family will receive
friends from 2 to 3 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in
the church cemetery.
Born May 25,
1939 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late F.B. Burnette and the
late Hattie Simpson Burnette. Mary worked at Stanly Knitting Mill until the mill
closed and worked over 20 years until she retired from Charlotte Plastics. Ms.
Mary was an active member of Berea Baptist Church and loved being outside
working with her flowers and raising vegetables.
Mary is survived by her son, Ronnie Chaney (Lisa) of Marshville, daughters, Nancy Helms of Marshville and Susan Yow of Stanfield. Other survivors include her brothers, John, Wade, Ike, and Ted Burnette; sisters, Lula Nance, Ann Simpson, and Judy Eudy; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Mary is
preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence, Charlie, and Floyd Burnette, and
sister, Faye Morgan.
