Martha Hinson Rushing's Obituary
Martha Delores Hinson Rushing, 83, of Locust passed away on September 5, 2023 in Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4 PM at the Oakboro Church of God, 712 North Main St., Oakboro on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
Born December 8, 1939 in Mecklenburg County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Conrad Barnes Hinson and Wilma Louise Biggers Hinson. She was a member of the Oakboro Church of God and was retired from Lance Cracker Co with over 40 years of service. Church was very important to Mrs. Rushing and she witnessed to people every where she went. She always had a smile on her face, loved to read her Bible and enjoyed keeping her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and read many hours each day.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Wayne Rushing on August 12, 2013. She is survived by daughter Mary R. Ward of Oakboro, and 6 grandchildren Seth Ward, Dalton Ward, Taylen Payne, Olivia Reames, Trevor Payne, and Nathaniel Payne.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sharon C. Smith.
