Martha Ann Lambert O'Neill's Obituary
Martha Ann Lambert O’Neill, of Albemarle, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 16, 2025, in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Born on January 1, 1943, in Stanly County, Martha was the daughter of the late Raymond Alexander “Dave” Lambert and Lottie Virginia Efird Lambert. She was a devoted member of Stony Hill Methodist Church and spent her professional career caring for others as a Respiratory Therapist. She retired from Stanly Regional Medical Center and served as Director of the Respiratory Therapy Department at Randolph Hospital for 18 years.
A woman of deep compassion and community spirit, Martha generously volunteered for many years with Hospice of Stanly County. She had a lifelong love of music, enjoyed studying the violin, and remained actively involved in the ministry and fellowship of her church.
Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Timothy O’Neill, in 2015. She is survived by her son, Ricky Howard Brown and wife Penny of Albemarle; daughter, Janet Yvonne Brown Hatley of Albemarle; four cherished grandchildren, Michelle Hicks, Jacquelyn Barrier, Lauren Cooper, and Keely Church; as well as eight great-grandchildren who brought her great joy. She was preceded in death by a brother Gene Lambert, a sister Joyce Martin, son-in-law Ronnie Hatley and a great-granddaughter Bexley Cooper.
Martha will be remembered for her warmth, dedication to others, and the lasting impact she made on her family, friends, and community.
