Martha Crisco Furr's Obituary
Martha Opalene Crisco Furr, 85, of Oakboro passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 in Autumn Care of Salisbury. Her funeral service will be held graveside at 3 PM on Sunday, February 26th, 2023 in the Oakboro Cemetery with Rev. Eugene Moore officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Born November 29, 1937 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Leander Devotion Crisco and Martha Hinson Crisco. She was a member of the Oakboro United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She loved her hometown of Oakboro and loved her family and friends there. She and her sister, Annie, lived across Main Street from each other. Opal and Annie had a passion for combing through yard sales together on weekend. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Rand Furr in 2005. Other survivors include children Sherri Huneycutt (Joe) of Charlotte, Mitzi Jackson (Victor) of Rockwell, and Tommy Rand Furr Jr. (Angela) of Dallas, four grandchildren Savannah Huneycutt, Addison Huneycutt, Austin Jackson, and Lana Jackson Bittinger (Timothy). She was preceded in death by a grandson Cedric Furr, and siblings Mae Taylor, Cornell Palmer, Beatrice Thompson, Annie Hartsell, Jerry Crisco, and Ted Crisco.
Memorials may be made to the Oakboro United Methodist Church.
