We celebrate the life of Markla Gist Curlee who peacefully surrendered her earthly body to the Lord for a new eternal and heavenly body on Thursday, August 4th 2022. A private memorial service will be held in the Oakboro Cemetery Read Obituary
Ms. Markla kept my kids at St. Martin (Lutheran Church) over 25 years ago. She was a sweetheart. Sorry for your loss.
Oh how I loved Markla. My mom though the world of her too, often asking me where she was and how she was doing. My fondest memories were when she came by every other week as our Avon lady. She was a fine woman.

Tina, you may remember your mom talking about working with Juanita, who was my mom. My mom considered your mom a good friend and thought so much of her. She would come home from work laughing at something funny your mom had said that day. I just know that they are laughing together now, probably talking about old times. Dear Family, I became acquainted with Markla while attending Mineral Springs Church. She was always full of life and energy. I then would see her for the meals. I’ll always remember having Markla as a Sunday School teacher and learning John 3:16 in her class. She was a wonderful person that impacted many lives. I’m blessed to have known her. Love and prayers for the family.
