Marilyn Hope Hvezdos' Obituary
Marilyn Hope Snyder Hvezdos, aged 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Compass Health Care in Spencer. A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2025, in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, led by Rev. Bill Baldwin. She will be laid to rest at Norview Gardens in Norwood. The family invites friends to gather at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle from 1 to 1:45 PM before the service begins.
Marilyn was born on March 1, 1942, in New Jersey to Richard and Theresa Snyder. She concluded her professional career in 2020, retiring from Ross's clothing department, following numerous years of dedicated service at Hill’s Department Store in the Jewelry Department in Mechanicsburg, PA. Marilyn was a devoted mother and grandmother, known for her abiding love for shopping, family gatherings, and her beloved dogs. She had a deep appreciation for the beauty of flowers, the renewal brought by spring, and the elegance of hummingbirds. Renowned for her selflessness, Marilyn consistently placed the needs of others before her own. Her presence served as a guiding light within her family, leaving an indelible impact that will endure.
She is survived by her four children: Lori Ritter of Florida, Dean Kelly (Wife – Michelle Kelly) of Pennsylvania, Lee Ann Ripple of Monroe, NC, and Michelle Watts (Husband – David Watts) of Norwood, NC. Marilyn leaves behind three grandchildren: Samantha Watts of Norwood, NC, Brandon Ripple of Pennsylvania, Devan Kelly of Pennsylvania, as well as her husband, John Hvezdos of Monroe, NC. She also leaves her three beloved dogs, Jessie (Little Jess), Jammer (Bubby) and Jazzie (Foxy).
