Marilyn Hartsell Goforth's Obituary
Marilyn Hartsell Goforth, 80, of Oakboro, NC passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 in Marietta, GA. Her funeral will be Wednesday June 29, 2016 at 2 PM in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service in Oakboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 PM prior to the service.
Born June 27, 1935 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late James Riley Hartsell and Zula Coley Hartsell. She graduated from Stanfield High School and was a retired administrative secretary. She was a member of West Oakboro Baptist Church.
Mrs. Goforth was preceded in death by her husband Earl Grady Goforth in 2000. She is survived by two sons, Marty Goforth of Oakboro, NC and Gary Goforth and wife Stacy of Norwood, NC, one daughter Delaine Lisk and husband John of Marietta, GA, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
