Margaret Virginia
Poole Jones (Granny), 95, of Concord, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020
at her home surrounded by family. A funeral service will be held at 12PM on
Friday, February 7, 2020 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel in
Locust, NC officiated by Rev. Keith Walters. Burial will follow at Gethsemane
Cemetery in Charlotte, NC. Visitation will be held from 11AM-12PM prior to the
service at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust.
Mrs. Jones
was born November 1, 1924 in Richmond, VA to the late Lena Catherine Marsh
Poole and John Thomas Poole. She retired from Herff Jones after working 40
years as a school photographer processor. Margaret was a member of the Eastern
Star and Northside Baptist church in Charlotte, NC.
Margaret is
preceded in death by her husband Marion David Jones, Sr.; brothers George Poole
and Raymond Poole; and sisters Lucille Hornberger and Dorothy Hoover. Mrs.
Jones is survived by sons: Marion David Jones, Jr. (Linda) of Lancaster, SC, and
John Wayne Jones (Lori) of Concord, NC; daughter Joyce Moore of Locust, NC; grandchildren:
Susie Jones, Donna Mangum, David Moore, Linda Baumgardner, Michael Moore, David
Jones, Nicole Sanderson, Debbie Smith, and Christy Hill; great-grandchildren:
Channon Harwell, Jessica Harwell, Brett Mangum, Jenna Mangum, Tess Sanderson, Rhyan
Jones, Carrie Baumgardner, Cecilia Baumgardner, Clara Smith, Johnathan Hill,
and Madison Hill; great-great-grandchildren: Nicholas Adams and Ariana Gravley;
sister Jean Dawson and daughter Cathy Ferguson of Mechanicsville, VA.
