Margaret Beatrice Teeter Furr's Obituary
Margaret Beatrice Teeter Furr, 85, Of Oakboro, NC passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, in her home. Her funeral service will be 3 PM Monday, January 15, 2024 at Big Lick Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Springer officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle.
Born December 21, 1938 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Henry Teeter and Ethel Sells Teeter. She worked at Stanly Knitting Mill and at Albemarle Medical Services as an office custodian. She was a member of Big Lick Baptist where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved her Jesus and loved her family, always putting others before herself – a true example of Christ to everyone around her! She also loved cleaning and cooking and visiting folks in the community.
She was married to the late George Robert “Bob” Furr. Survivors include daughters Sandra F. Chance (Jeff) of Locust, NC, and Patricia F. Stevens (Bob) of FL, Bobbie F. Almond (Randy) of Oakboro, NC, and Melissa F. Parker (Tony) Oakboro, NC. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Robbie Hunneycutt of Albemarle, Josh Almond of Oakboro, Mallory Andrew (Stephen) of Locust, Tyler Almond (Kasey) of Oakboro, Casey Stevens of SC, Kerri Stevens of FL, Brady Parker of Oakboro, and Kelsey Parker of Oakboro, and 4 great-grandchildren Ansley Andrew, Kylie Thurmond, Abram Andrew, and Hudson Almond.
