Mandy Hope Smith's Obituary
Mandy Hope Smith, 42, of Indian Trail passed away in her sister's arms, surrounded by her loving family, at home on November 23, 2023. Mandy was born in Charlotte and grew up in Mint Hill, a town she loved so much that she chose to raise her own babies there. She was a country girl who loved the outdoors. Whether it was the brisk air in the mountains of western North Carolina or the rhythmic sound of waves lapping the shore at the beach, she was enamored with God's creation.
Mandy loved people and she adored animals, and her careers at Coddle Creek Animal Hospital, Providence Animal Hospital, and as the receptionist at AC Controls, Inc. allowed her frequent interactions with both. Mandy's most treasured calling was being a loving and supportive momma to Abigail and Mason. Her babies were the twinkle in her eyes and the sparkle in her smile, and she let everyone around her know it.
Mandy was preceded in death by her grandparents Ralph and Eula Burnette; Bobby and Carole Taylor. Mandy leaves behind to cherish her memory, her precious children Abigail Ayers (Tyler) and Mason Smith, her loving and fiercely devoted parents Jim and Tamara Burnette, her best friend and sister Natalie-Rose Catron, her protective brother Tim Burnette (Von), her nephews Ellis Catron, Austin Burnette, and TJ Burnette, and her fiancé, Marty Allman, who was the love of her life.
We request the honor of your presence as we celebrate her beautiful life at the Family Life Center at Arlington Baptist Church on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:30pm, and Mandy's Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, Mandy's family requests that donations be made in her honor to help further scientific advancements in SCAD research and treatment. It is their hope that this will prevent other families from experiencing the aftermath of SCAD that Mandy endured for the last seven months of her life.
