Maebelle Johnson's Obituary
Mrs. MaeBelle Hildreth Johnson, age 86, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away June 25, 2014 at her home in Monroe, North Carolina.
Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. MaeBelle Hildreth Johnson will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Kevin Johnson, Reverend Marvin Tarlton, and Reverend Jeremy Johnson. Interment will be in Wingate City Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born August 25, 1927 in Anson County, North Carolina , a daughter of the late Samuel Jones Hildreth and Addie Kiker Hildreth. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly Jean Ross; two brothers, Joseph Clay Hildreth and Broughton Jones Hildreth; and a sister, Alma Wallace.
She was retired from MaLeck Industries of Wingate, NC, where she was Bowl Supervisor at the time of her retiring. She traveled many years with the singing group known as Bobby Furr and The Travelers. Even after she went blind, she still enjoyed going to her church, New Grace Baptist Church, for many years, making perfect attendance for 7 years straight, not missing a single Sunday.
Survivors include a daughter, Belvie Jean Ross and husband, Doyle; a son Rev. Roger Johnson and wife, Debbie, all of Monroe; her 6 grandchildren, David Ross and wife, Linda, Tonya Shaver and husband, Scott, Melissa Crunkleton and husband, Bill, Jeremy Johnson and wife, Kim, Travis Johnson and wife, Teresa, all of Monroe, Rev. Kevin Johnson and wife, Kiescha, of Myrtle Beach, SC; fourteen great-grandchildren, Cody Crunkleton wife, Andrea, Devin Davis and fiancée, Ashlee Revell, Jesse Crunkleton, Brooke Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Cameron Shaver, Austin Broadway, Ethan Broadway, Scott Broadway, Ryan Johnson, and Austin Johnson, all of Monroe, Kirsten, Hailey, and Samuel Johnson, all of Myrtle Beach, SC. There is one great-great-grandchild, Zoe Jane Crunkleton, also of Monroe.
The family will receive friends Friday night, June 27, 2014, from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home; 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
