Macon Hugh Eudy, 85,?of Albemarle, NC?entered?into rest on January 2, 2016.
Hugh was born in Stanly County March 5, 1930. He was the fourth of five children of Cromer and Pinkie Burris Eudy. Hugh married Wanza Clark Brewer on April 16, 1990. ?He was preceded in death by wife Mazelle Drye Eudy; son - Michael Hugh Eudy, brother, J D Eudy and sisters Rellie Huneycutt, Flora Hatley, and Evelyn Eudy.? Hugh spent his career as a construction engineer in N.C., S.C. and Virginia. ?He retired in June 2005.
Throughout his life Hugh enjoyed varying activities and hobbies including restoring a Volkswagen Thing,?restoring tractors and?vintage farm equipment, buying and restoring homes, attending auctions and trading. He enjoyed backyard bird watching, gardening, and traveling the southern states.? Above all, Hugh enjoyed the time spent with family and friends. He had a lifetime of giving and helping his neighbors.
Hugh proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953.
Hugh is survived by his wife of 26 years, Wanza Eudy; grandson, Jesse Michael Eudy, stepson,?Chad Brewer and his wife Mary Kathryn of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Kate, Jack, Gracie and Sam Brewer; great granddaughters, Lillie and Mazie Eudy of Albemarle, and an extended family of nephews, nieces, and sister's and brother-in-law.
A private graveside service will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery and will be officiated by Dr. Wayne Bennett.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Stanly Manor for their loving care and kindness during his extended illness.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice.
