Mabel Griffin's Obituary
Mabel Starnes Griffin, age 73, of Monroe, NC, went peacefully on October 31, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews, NC to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Monroe, NC on November 25, 1940. Mabel was a member of Life Giving Christian Center and had a passion for her Lord and her family.
Funeral services to Celebrate the Life of Mabel Starnes Griffin will be conducted Monday, November 2, 2014, at 1:00 PM at Life Giving Christian Center, 2338 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Lillian Starnes; her son, Mike Helms III; two brothers, Larry Starnes and Rondal Starnes; and her sister, Margaret James.
She is survived by her children, Debbie and her husband Lane Whitley of Monroe, Sondra and her husband Anthony Rape of Monroe and Toni Cook of Marshville; her grandchildren, Shane Whitley, Crystal Burch, Melissa Cook, Bobby Joe Cook, Michael Rape and Sarah Rape; her siblings, Betty Plyler of Monroe, Emmie Laney of Pageland, SC and Kitty Benton of Marshville; and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home at 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Life Giving Christian Center, 2338 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110.
