Lydia Louise Shaver Hollis, 96, of Albemarle passed away Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 in Bethany Woods Nursing Center.? Her funeral will be at 2 PM Friday, April 7th, 2017 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Huneycutt officiating.? Burial will follow in Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.? The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the hour of service.
Born October 24, 1920 in Rowan County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Alexander Shaver and Mertie Earnhardt Shaver and was a retired Nursing Supervisor with Stanly Regional Medical Center.? Mrs. Hollis was active in the life of Prospect Baptist Church while her health permitted and she was church organist for many years.
Mrs. Hollis was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Fred T. Hollis in 2005 and by her son Robert A. Hollis in 2010.? Survivors include son Tommy Hollis and wife Linda of Charlotte, daughter Jacqueline H. Stutts and husband Andrew of Albemarle, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
