Lt Col (Ret) Dewey Ralph Preslar, Sr, age 90, passed away Easter morning at Trinity Place in Albemarle on April 9, 2023. Dewey was born April 27, 1932 in Wadesboro NC to Robert O. and Hannah Treadaway Preslar. He and his wife Gera Read Obituary
My prayers go to the family. My memory of Col Pressler was from being in the Air Guard with him. Served him many meals from the chow hall. Very fine officer, and fine man. Had a lot of respect for him. May God be with the family at this sad time.

Lt Col Preslar was my first commander. He was passionate about his work and his family. A good man; I still follow his guidance in many ways. It was an honor to know and serve under him.
I have had the opportunity to get to know Dewey while being his private caregiver for a year now. I grew very fond of this man. We became like a hand and glove with our time together. Some days were rough because being a military man I was to follow his orders and as a good soldier I did. We had good times together ie( going to drink coffee and enjoy a cigarette and the outdoors. We would meet his son David and wife Becky on most Fridays with a visit from time to time with his oldest Dewey jr. He left a special mark in my life. Dewey it was a honor to know and love you. He was truly a man among men. I was proud to call him my friend and my brother.
Brother Dewey presented me with my 14 degree ring in Charlotte when I received my Scottish Rite degrees. He was truly a gentleman and wonderful brother. I enjoyed seeing him in February at our Brunswick Stew. My sincere condolences to the Preslar Family. Thank you for sharing your dad with us.
