Lottie Jahala Johnson Burris, age 75 of Albemarle, NC, passed away early Saturday? , December 3, 2016,? in her home, under the care of her family and Community Homecare and Hospice of Troy.? A gathering and celebration of her life will be held?Saturday, December 10, 2pm?at Stanly Funeral Home in Albemarle.
Jahala was born June 12, 1941 to the late James Shellie Johnson? and Lottie Harris Springer Johnson in Stanly County.? After graduating from Badin High, she started a career with Winn Dixie that spanned more than 50 years.? With the closing of Winn Dixie, she moved to working with Kmart and finally Food Lion before fully retiring.? She cherished being with and cooking for her family and sharing her wisdom with her many friends.
Surviving are her husband Kenneth Burris of the home, two sons Charles Burris and wife Angie of Albemarle and Johnny Burris and wife Tari of Greensboro, NC, one brother Franklin Johnson of Badin, NC, five sisters Geraldine Corriher, Christine Hitchcock, Ophelia Blalock, and Jane Burris of Albemarle, and Myrtle Stone of Pleasant Garden, NC, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.? Preceding her in death along with her parents are two brothers Harris Johnson and Robert Johnson.
