Lonnie Keith Thompson, age 78 of Albemarle, NC passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at his home.? His service will be on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 4:00 PM?at Union Grove Baptist Church, Albemarle, NC with the Rev. Jeremy Blake officiating.?Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.? The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:30 PM to 3:45 PM prior to the hour of the service.
Mr. Thompson was born on September 22, 1937 in Stanly County, NC to the late?Lonnie Joe Thompson and Jenna Boone Thompson and a retired employee of Wiscassett?Mill Company.? He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.? He loved to hunt, fish, working outside, and his family.
He was married to Bernice Helms Thompson of the home.? Surviving is a son; Ronald Thompson and wife Lisa of Albemarle, NC, a twin brother; Gibson Heath Thompson and wife Jahala , brother; Ronnie Garth Thompson and wife Lois all of Charlotte, NC, one sister; Jewell Simpson Walker of Charlotte, NC. two grandsons; Taylor Thompson and wife Sarah and Matt Thompson all from Albemarle, NC.?? He was preceded in death by a?sister, Evelyn Simpson.
