Linda Delcomyn Raxter's Obituary
Linda Delcomyn Raxter, 75, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 5 PM at Uwharrie Community Church in Albemarle. A receiving of friends will follow the service.
Linda was born on April 11, 1951, in California to the late Edmond and Nellie Delcomyn. She lived a life marked by creativity, dedication, and love for her family.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Vanessa Ames (Chelsea) and Edmond Lucas (Kimberly); her stepdaughter, Melissa Flynn (Timothy); grandchildren, Olive Ames, Theodore Lucas, and Henry Lucas; sisters, Ruth Dixon and Della McDowell (Steve); as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Linda was a talented seamstress who enjoyed DIY projects and expressing her creativity through her many crafts. She was especially proud of the opportunity to sew custom handbags for military families; a meaningful way she shared her talents with others. Above all, Linda treasured time spent with her grandchildren, enjoyed watching her favorite daytime soap operas, and rarely went without her beloved Coke Zero nearby.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Tillery Compassionate Care and the "Circle of Friends" Community Group at Uwharrie Community Church for the exceptional love, care, and support shown to Linda during her declining health.
Linda will be remembered for her creativity, determination, and the love she shared with those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends who were blessed to know her.
