Linda Hoyle Henson's Obituary
Linda Hoyle Henson, 84, of Albemarle, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Albemarle.
Born in Rutherford County, North Carolina, Linda was the daughter of the late Arthur Columbus Hoyle and Estelle Sane Hoyle.
Linda attended college at UNC Greensboro, Pfeiffer College, and UNC Charlotte earning a Masters of Education. She spent most of her career at East Albemarle Elementary School as a teacher in 2nd and 3rd grades. Linda’s passion for education continued after retirement as an adult literacy tutor. Beyond the classroom, she was a passionate world traveler who saw the globe as an extension of her teaching. Traveling to Asia, Europe, and throughout North America with her late husband, Jim.
Linda was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Albemarle, where she served as a Deacon and on various church committees.
Linda’s true joy lay in her roles as mother, grandmother, and hostess. She had an unmatched gift for making everyone feel at home.
Linda Henson is survived by her two sons, Jeff Henson (Linn) of Greenville, North Carolina, and Jonathan Henson (Ginan) of Moorpark, California and five grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, who passed away earlier this year.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, June 22, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Albemarle with Rev. Dr. Kendall Cameron officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 9:30 AM at First Baptist Church of Albemarle prior to the service
