Lillie Floyd Morton, 92, of Norwood passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in Trinity Place.? Her funeral will be 11 AM Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Julie Hill officiating.? Burial will follow in Norview Gardens.? The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care from 9:30 until 10:30 prior to the funeral service.
Born August 23, 1923 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. Morton and Sunnie Floyd Morton and was a retired employee of Collins and Aikman.? She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Norwood.? Although Lillie didn?t have biological children she was a second mother to all of her nieces and nephews.? She enjoyed life and enjoyed giving to others who were less fortunate.? Lillie dedicated her life to caring for other people.
Lillie was predeceased by 13 brothers and sisters and is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.? The family requests that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church of Norwood, 207 S. Main St., Norwood, NC 28128 or to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
