Lewis Peter Umbenhower's Obituary
Mr. Lewis Peter Umbenhower, Jr. age 58, of Waxhaw, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street.
Mr. Umbenhower was born on July 20, 1956, in Washington, DC, a son of the late Lewis P. Umbenhower Sr. and Dorothy Volz Umbenhower.
He was a senior systems engineer for Microsoft and a US Navy Veteran.
He was also a graduate of Sandhills Community College and ITT Technical Institute.
Lewis was a gifted horticulturist with a special emphasis in the growing of orchids which will be displayed during his services at Davis. His other interests include fishing, and playing the guitar.
Survivors include a son, Lewis P. Umbenhower III of Boylston, MA, and a daughter, Heather Umbenhower of Wakefield MA; a brother, George Umbenhower of Clayton, NC, two sisters, Ramona Bautista (Kevin) of Waldolf, MD, and Regina Creedon of Oak Island, NC; and his companion pet, Khit T. Khat.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ASPCA or the Waxhaw Animal Shelter.
