Lester William Starnes' Obituary
Lester William Starnes, 88, of Richfield passed away December 12, 2020 in Atrium Health Stanly. A graveside service will be held on Thursday December 17, 2020 at 2 PM at Open Door Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Hammill officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Born December 21, 1931 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Matthew Gene Starnes and Minnie Barbee Starnes.? He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church and was retired from EJ Snyder.? Mr. Starnes was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict.?
He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia Whitley Starnes in 2013. Survivors include daughters Cindy Hinson of New London and Pam Metcalf of Albemarle, brother Gene Starnes of Albemarle, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and special friend Mae Morgan.
