Leon Gordon Snuggs Sr.'s Obituary
Leon Gordon Snuggs Sr., 87, of Albemarle passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Born August 15, 1937 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Ray Snuggs and Bonnie Barnes Snuggs. He was retired supervisor with EJ Snyder. Mr. Snuggs lived in Charlotte for the past 40 years. He enjoyed following the Band of Oz, loved watching his grandchildren in sports and beauty pageants. He also enjoyed being in downtown Charlotte and people-watching.
Mr. Snuggs is survived by three children, Kim Bridge of New London, Gordon Snuggs of Albemarle, Mitchell Snuggs of Bald Head Island, sister-in-law Ethel Snuggs of Durham, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, as well as recently by his son-in-law, Dr. Larry Bridge.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Will's Place, 540 N. 1st Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
