Larry Edward Smith's Obituary
Mr. Larry Edward Smith, age 71, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe, North Carolina.
Funeral Services to celebrate his life was conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, May 12, 2017, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, 2509 Mountain Springs Church Road, Monroe, NC, 28112, officiated by Reverend Phil McLean. Interment followed in the Griffin Family Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born on July 5, 1945, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late Heath Volen Smith and the late Allie Mae Puckett Smith.
In his earlier years he worked as a machinist at Vanguard Supreme with approximately thirty years of dedicated service.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lynnda Mower Smith.
Survivors include his two sons Marty E. Smith and wife Denita of Monroe, NC and Collin H. Smith and wife Amanda of Monroe, NC; his daughter Crystal S. Cox and husband Doug of Monroe, NC; his brother Randy Smith and wife Candace of Monroe, NC; his sister Connie S. Bryant of Monroe, NC; his longtime special friend Debbie Ford of Monroe, NC; and his five grandchildren, Trent Cox, Jayde Cox, Kelsey Cox, Myleah Starnes, and Dalton Jenkins.
The family received friends from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM Friday, May 12, 2017, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, prior to the funeral ceremony.
Memorials may be made to Mountain Springs Baptist Church.
