Larry Edward Mills, 70, of Albemarle, NC, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Born in Stanly County on August 23, 1954, he was the son of the late Grover Edward Mills and Dorothy Lefler Mills. Larry retired from Read Obituary
Sorry to say goodby to the first boy I ever danced with. Larry’s grandparents were like my grandparents because they lived a short distance from my home on Lowder Road. Larry and Billy were often visiting and my sister and I got to know them as children.
Will truly miss Larry & his jovial self. Loved getting an occasional phone call from him. Will miss him coming to the Laton reunion ( were wondering where he was this Year). He attended a Lunch at a Church in the Mt Gilead area & met a couple from the West End area that had moved to the River area. Got a call from them & from Larry telling me about meeting someone who knew me. Don't think he met a stranger.
So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a pretty regular customer of mine at Rotation Station in Oakboro. He was such a sweet man!
We are so saddened to hear of Larry's passing. He was a dear friend.

Larry has been a good friend of my for 50 years. He was a man of his word. If he told you something you could take it to the bank. He fought through some tough times. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. He was good as gold to me and always had a smile. Will miss him.
Always good to see Larry. Will miss him, enjoyed his phone calls. Remember when he was with his family across from Uncle Allen (Small fellow then.} He always enjoyed people. He seemed to enjoy the Laton reunion at Taylors.
Bill. I was so sorry to hear about Larry’s passing! We graduated together. Larry was a good friend and a good humble man. He was always friendly and I’ve never seen him get upset about anything or person.
I remember going to HARRIS TEETER on many occasions and I sometimes would see a quarter rolling by in front of me. It would be Larry standing way off and smiling at me! He could roll that quarter a 100 feet if nothing was in the way!
I’ve always thought highly of Larry, you and your parents.
I know Larry has been through some difficult times the past several years, but he’s at peace now!
