Larry Steve Mauney's Obituary
Larry Steve Mauney, 77, of Albemarle, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. His funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Capel of Albemarle with Rev. Larry Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
Born July 16, 1945 in Cabarrus County, NC, he was the son of the late Richard Mauney and Rachel Gray Mauney. He was a member of Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked at many jobs during his life, most recently as a carpenter. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and softball in his younger years.
Mr. Mauney is survived by his wife, Betty Furr Mauney of the home. Other survivors include a son, Chris Mauney (Cindy) of Albemarle, daughter Robin Mauney of Albemarle, two brothers, Wayne Mauney of Florida and Bill Mauney of Mt. Pleasant, two step-daughters, Angela Fesperman of Albemarle, and Judy Chappell of Albemarle, 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
