Larry Leon Kirk 79 years of age passed away at Atrium Medical Center in Albemarle N.C.
on Wednesday the 16th of September 2020 at 12:08 pm. He is predeceased by his Father William ?Boyce? Kirk,
Mother Bernice Beachum Williams, sister Brenda Kirk Baker and granddaughter Laura Elizabeth Kirk.
??????Larry is lovingly survived by his loving wife of 23 years Irene Kirk , his older brother Don Kirk and wife Brenda? both of Troy N.C., daughters Robin Kirk of Chesapeake, Va and Krista Kirk ? Swindle and husband Jason? of Virginia Beach, Va. Grandchildren: Tyler Kirk, Brayden Swindle and Ryleigh Swindle,? one niece and three nephews.
Larry was born in Wadesboro, N.C. on August 25th 1941. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in France and Germany among other places. Some years after his military service he began working for the Hampton Roads Transit System as a driver, where he retired after 25 years of service to the cities of Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. Larry enjoyed gardening around the house and hunting. He loved to go on walks with his wife and their dog Lucky. Larry was also an avid motorcycle rider and liked to go to car races often. He was a member of American Legion Post 502.
Celebration of Life will be held at:
Stanly Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1835 Badin Road, Albemarle N.C. 28001. On Saturday, October 3rd, at 1 p.m.
