Larry "Jim" Belk's Obituary
Mr. Larry "Jim" Dean Belk, age 73, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Presbyterian Hospital-Charlotte.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be 6:30 PM Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Davis Funeral Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112, officiated by Reverend Joe Haskett and Reverend Sonny Rogers. Interment will be 11:00 AM Friday January 27, 2017 at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.
Larry was born on December 22, 1943, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late Shute Belk and the late Thelma Griffin Belk.
In his earlier years he was a repairman in the sewing machine industry.
He is preceded in death by his son Bobby Ray Belk in 2011 and his sister Barbara Tucker.
Survivors include his wife Diane Ross Belk of Monroe; his daughter Vickie D. Belk of Waxhaw, NC; his two sons Michael Dean Belk and David F. Belk both of Monroe, NC; there are nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers-in-law, Doyle Ross and Donald Ross; and a sister-in-law, Doris Ross Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Davis Funeral Home, prior to the funeral ceremony.
