One of my fondest memories of Doug follows. He was a generous gift giver at Christmas time to our boys (his nephews) when we visited from Pennsylvania. He seemed to delight in buying them extra large scale toys that took up precious cargo space in our minivan straining our packing skills to the limit for the ride home. Deliberate? That adorable twinkle in his eye revealed the answer, methinks.
