Kenneth Wayne Winchester Jr., age 60, passed away November 17, 2018.
A Memorial Service for Kenneth will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 24, at Prospect United Methodist Church, 6020 Prospect Rd. Monroe, NC 28110.
Kenneth was born and raised in Monroe, NC. He served in the U.S. Air Force and traveled the world. His successful career contributed to the Department of Defense and the missile defense industry. He was an accomplished bluegrass musician. He loved hiking, mountain biking, climbing, scuba diving, and cross-country skiing - anything and everything outdoors. He had an amazing sense of humor and an infectious smile. He never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jude; his two sons, Jeff & Kris; two stepchildren, Roger & Janna; Pop, Wayne Winchester; two sisters Debbie & Sandy; brother, Al; seven grandchildren, six nieces, and many friends he considered family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ann Ghant Winchester.
