Kenneth "Kenny" Brown's Obituary
Kenneth “Kenny” Roosevelt Brown, 91, of Albemarle passed away on Thursday August 1, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 3 PM on Sunday August 4, 2024, in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-3 PM prior to the service.
Mr. Brown was born July 19, 1933, in Stanly County to the late Theodore and Ranna Brown. Mr. Brown is lovingly survived by his wife, Frances Brown of 69 years. Those also left to cherish his memories are daughters; Karen Waller (John) of Ringgold, GA, Susan Gibson (Randy) of New London and Teresa Poplin (Donnie) of Norwood and one son, Steve Brown of Albemarle, sister, Geraldine Springer, grandchildren; John Waller Jr. (Abby), Matt Chandler, Taylor Hurley (Mandy), Jennifer Gibson, Travis Gibson (April), Chase Poplin, Alex Poplin, Zac Brown (Alyssa), Maddie Brown and Aidan Brown and Great Grandchildren; Kendall, Brody, Mason, Jensen, Huxley, Sawyer, Ava and Charlotte.
Mr. Brown loved his family and enjoyed being around them all. He was the best husband, dad, granddaddy and great-granddaddy! He was an educator and coach and loved teaching MANY Stanly County students how to drive. When health permitted, he loved golf, yard work and most importantly he loved the Yankees. He was a gentle man and a gentleman! To know him was to love him, especially being known for his calm, gentle spirit.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bethany United Methodist Church (2411 US-52, Albemarle, NC 28001) or Tillery Compassionate Care (960 N 1st St, Albemarle, NC 28001)
