Kay Mangum Spittle, age 79, of Monroe, NC, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Atrium Union. Friends will be received Monday, August 30th, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Davis Funeral Service, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monr Read Obituary
i am so sorry to hear that Kay had passed from a neighbor as I was walking home from work. I was out of town for a bit after my husband's memorial mass service with my family. Kay has a caring heart and she would always stop her car when she saw me and asked after my husband. She is blessed with a big heart and a kind soul. she will always be with us as we think of her.
I was one of kay's friends and ECU roommates. She is such a a kind memory. We enjoyed many hours together over our journey here. I now feel she will always be watching over me ,until I can join her in heaven. My love to her family from my family.
To all the family. May Jesus be the comforter you turn to and lean on during this time of sorrow in your hearts. We all lost a beautiful person and she will always be with us as often as we think about her.
Aunt Kay, as I always called her, had a heart as big as the world. When I was small and was in an orphanage in Lexington and her father Uncle Curtis would always make sure we were home for the summer and at Christmas. When she would take us shopping for Christmas I remember she would let me try on several dresses and I would tell her which one I liked and she would tell me that was either too long or too short; and I would be disappointed but Christmas time I would get the one I wanted. I can smile remembering her laughter at Christmas time when I would be so shocked. Love you Kay. RIH with all your family and fly high. Every time I see a butterfly I will think of you it will put a smile upon my face.
The Mangum family has truly suffered a great loss with the passing of Kay. We rejoice in knowing that she has gotten her heavenly reward; and is reunited with her parents and brother's. She was always a real friend and great part of our class. We will truly miss her at our lunches from now on. She is Home now with her God and family, no longer hurting. Stewart, Maria and Austin are in my prayers and thoughts. Mrs. Spittle was the pure epitome of a soldier in the army of the Lord. I wanted her as a 4th grade teacher but God had other plans for her on the district level for both the Monroe City & UCPS systems. She's finished her race and can now walk through the pearly gates. Sending condolences and prayers to the Spittle family. I met Kay many years ago in an educational training. I was educator from Anson County and our paths crossed frequently after that. It was always nice to be in her company.
